insomniac.

It's 4AM. I have to leave for work in less than 4 hours. EXCELLENT.

Spending my time very productively. Cigarettes and Sigur Rós - Untitled 3 on repeat. Browsed Flickr and added a bunch of new faves. Hung up some lights on my wall which I've been meaning to do for ages. Ended up making it spell out l-o-v-e. Very cliché. It was either that or a PacMan. But the latter turned out to be sort of difficult.

Also, favorite YouTube/SNL Digital Short EVER:

Fucking brilliant.

I think I'm going to clean my room now. Maybe work on that "best albums of 2000s" list I've started compiling. Something more productive than sitting here refreshing Twitter and Google Reader over and over again. AND NOTHING IS HAPPENING ON THE INTERWEBZ, DAMMIT.

I also just felt the urge to finish this post with "l8r", which I do believe is an excellent testimony to my sanity right now.

Pinkish.

Just found these old-ish photos from The Big Pink's gig at Vega back in October or something and realized I'd never posted them. So. Ladies and gentlemen, The Big Pink!

Ready To Make The Jump To Lightspeed?

Very, very excited for the new album!

Joyeux Noël.

It usually takes The Killers to release their annual Christmas-single for me to get that elusive Christmas spirit. This year's is a collaboration with Wild Light and Mariachi El Bronx. Never heard of either, and I must admit I still prefer the first two singles they did in 2006 and 2007 where it was 'just' The Killers and not all these other people. I'm still sort of weirded out by the Elton John and Neil Tennant collaboration from last year.

Anywho. It's almost Christmas! I've only been really listening to one Christmas song of late; Bright Eyes' version of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. But I've only really been listening to Bright Eyes in general lately.

As
¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe! is for charity, I suggest you go download the song at iTunes. Instead, here's Bright Eyes.

MONSTERS!

Monsters of Folk @ Store Vega, November 2oth 2009.

No words. Just look at the tracklist here. They blew me and the rest of an enchanted Store Vega away completely. I've rarely seen a crowd act this exemplary, staying perfectly quiet through the slow songs only to erupt in mindblowing cheers as soon as the moment arrives. It was perfect.

It felt like I'd been at 4 different shows when the 3 hours were up. My Morning Jacket with Jim James and his pwetty, pwetty voice; Bright Eyes with a completely awesome Conor Oberst jumping and running around stage; M. Ward being his regular amazing self, ruling the guitar-solos; and finally the combined Monsters of Folk. They seemed genuinely happy to be performing, like 4 BFFs complimenting each other like no one could have expected.

Though 3 hours is a LONG. ASS. TIME to be standing in one place, I never for one second wanted it to stop. It could've gone on for 3 hours longer. I seriously believe that this is the best concert I've ever attended. And that's a big deal.

Anywho. Photos! I haven't had the time to do serious Photoshopping yet, as I've spent my weekend with family and am currently on a train back towards the capital. So I went ahead and abused Toycamera a little. I still start gushing when I look at the photos and realize that just two days ago, I was 5 feet away from M. Ward and Conor Oberst.

HORROR.

The Horrors @ Lille Vega, November 9th 2009.

(several more at the Flickrlickrdickr)

Suddenly I understood Melissa and Ida's obsession with Faris. Who may or may not be my wallpaper now.

LIKE OMGZ.

November 20th (THAT'S A WEEK FROM TODAY!) I am going to die.

Monsters Of Folk are visiting our lovely city, playing a gig at Store Vega. I haven't listened to their music as much as I should, but I've been mega-super-excited to see them anyway. I mean, it's M. Ward (I cried last time I saw him) and Conor Oberst. I love them. LOVE. So imagine my excitement when the news came out that they'll be playing solo-material at this concert as well as tracks from the joint album.

I am currently in class. I might have squealed when I read that piece of news. Loudly.

I am going to cry on November 20th. I am going to cry and when the 2-3 HOUR long concert is over, I can die happy.

Seriously, my hands are shaking. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE EVER RECEIVED.

... Otherwise, my life is pretty damn near perfection these days. I'm insanely busy all the time, I'm only home to sleep (sometimes) and drink coffee before running out again. Hence the lack of blogging. I have so many photos to post, alas I never seem to have the time. Even if I'm done editing the results of Brendan Benson, The Big Pink, and the Horrors, it seems like an immensely huge amount of work to actually upload them to Flickr and write somewhat coherent post about it.

So. Patience. It'll come sometime when things slow down. I don't really want it to slow down, but I foresee a lot of procrastination in the future as the exams are coming up and I have some major papers to write.

There's also a boy. There's a lot of happy love songs on repeat and a whole lot of time spent being that annoyingly happy couple holding hands while getting milk at the supermarket (I always hate those people).

I'll get around to it whenever.

Class is out. I'm out of here.

(good)Morning.

Lightspeed Champion will probably never be beaten as my favorite morning-music.

Tonight.

Algernon Cadwallader, Teenage Cool Kids, Animal Hospital, Nightpass @ Lades Kælder.

YES!

I have a minimum of 6 concerts to attend in the next 3-4 week period. I can't wait to get back out there with my camera and just shoooot.

Last Thursday.

First, I met Mira:

Then we headed to Rust where Among Relatives were playing:

Then another band took the stage, I forget the name, and they were also terribly hilarious. Too much laughing going on for photographing.

Finally, Ciao Transizta went on, and I ended up enjoying it too much which resulted in almost forgetting to take photos until the very end:

So there's a lead singer for ya.

In other news, I have an annoyingly huge paper due tomorrow and am currently studying at the library on my old school's campus. This is some serious procrastinating. Going back to focusing now. NOW.

Update.

I have not been a good blogger lately.

Instead of any kind of substantial posting, I give you a few random photos from the last few weeks + random tracks.

Telling extremely exciting stories to Carsten at my workplace's party. Open bar, permanent beer stains on that white tee, very few memories.

Jacob and Emil post-baking of our infamous BACON CAKE. Disgusting.

Karen a.k.a. Coolio. We spent our entire freshman-trip dancing on a mostly empty dancefloor.

Maverick + Goose, Emil + Jacob, Jack + Ennis.

Blurry Ida.

Bright Eyes - At The Bottom Of Everything
Ciao Transizta - Cover My Ass
The Used - Light With A Sharpened Edge
The Beatles - Glass Onion (remastered version)
Altmodisch - 5bånd (working title)

Mescalin, Baby + new song = awesomeness.

Seriously. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, and I'm suddenly way more dissappointed with myself for not making it to their gig Saturday. That was just silly.

Untitled no. 1967,8.

Today, while I was working, my iPod decided to magically turn on and play Factory45's debut album over and over again until I got off. I wasn't even listening to it when I arrived, so I take this as a hint from my iPod that I should've mentioned the album a while ago. Which is probably true.

Lookie, lookie, there's nakedness on the cover!:

I guess the reason I haven't gotten around to it, is that it sort of disappointed me. And I really expected to love it, truly, honestly, I did. But I didn't. And I hate writing negative reviews, so let's just mention the good things.

- "Sweet Meat", "Love Scent", and "Untitled no. 6" are really, really good.
- The album art and booklet are pretty fucking awesome (you go, M.)
- Look! NAKED PEOPLE.

I still maintain that they're one of the best live bands in Denmark. It's always a fucking blast. And I honestly don't feel in any sort of position to be criticizing anything, seriously, who am I to do that?

I'll shut up now.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW, iPOD!?

Amazingness

Song Of The Day, The Week, The Month, The Year.

Arctic Monkeys - Cornerstone MP3

The open bar last night hit harder than expected. I remember doing Wonderwall as a karaoke duet. I remember it being filmed, standing in front of a blue screen spilling beer everywhere. Here's to that never making it online.

I remember this song on YouTube, repeat repeat repeat, as the night ended way differently than planned on a balcony somewhere in the city, the rain pounding down.

I have no idea how to deal with work after seeing my bosses dance to Lady Gaga.

Vendetta.

Had a wild Friday night - came home from work at 10:30pm and went straight to bed. WILD I TELL YOU.
Tonight should make up for that. Party with work supplying an open bar. Planning to dive right into that bitch, dance with my favorite Swedes, then head out to Lades Kælder for Mescalin, Baby + The Hogliners + Ciao Transizta.

I really hope to make it to Mescalin, Baby. It's been, what, 3 weeks since I last saw them at Studenterhuset. THAT'S A LONG TIME.

Photos, because I forgot to post them before. Woops.

Also, here's awesomeness in 11MB

I Stand Corrected.

So I finally edited all my photos. Ish. First up: Vampire Weekend @ Store Vega, August 13th 2009.

'

Because those two photos aren't at all alike. And they totally show how completely and entirely the boys rocked Vega with their afrobeats.

It does, however, re-envoke the feelings I had when the Vega security guy almost made me leave because of my camera. I just put it away, but GOD. Very obnoxious.

Hi! I'm Back!

My brand new baby looks like this:

Ain't she a beaut? I am completely and utterly in love.

I started school today. Seemed alright. I'm reserving judgement. I feel like I can't really relate to the concept of school. I was completely restless after the 5 hours today. Even if the people were nice and the subjects at hand interesting. And there was beer, 10 bucks a pop. ALWAYS good.

To come, whenever I get around to installing Photoshop: Photos from Vampire Weekend, bob hund, and Mescalin, Baby. And whatever else is randomly still on my memory card.

Now I just need to figure out how to actually work a Mac. Oh God.

Vit Päls.

Just because it's Calle from work.

And because I listen to too much Swedish stuff atm.

And because it's actually quite good. And funny.

(Macbook Pro 13" will be mine soon, courtesy of my mothers terribly nice and generous boyfriend)

Rest In Peace, My Friend.

My computer died last night. It's been on the verge of giving up for quite a while, lately only working while tilted at a 45 degree angle. But last night, coming home from work, it irrevocably and irreversibly gave out completely.

12 months of photos. Gone.

I'm back at my old internet café, just around the corner from my old place. Had an e-mail in my inbox from a band that wanted some pictures I took back in June. Alas.

And just in time for the fall semester starting in 3 weeks. Brilliant idea to start a new major without a computer, right?

I'll be back sometime in September.

Weekend in photos.

Friday:

Brunch with Nina.

Followed by shopping,

..followed by blackcurrant cheese cake at what used to be called Roberts (and I refuse to call it by its new name)

Very randomly we found a band playing at Vor Frue Church in relation to World Out Games. They were surprisingly good. Myspace.

Saturday:
Met people for beer at Astrid's new apartment in Larsbjørnsstræde (very envious). Celebrated that everyone got into the university of their choice.

Anne is continuing with Economics, 2nd year. Line's arm is going to KU for Law.

Anne and Astrid are both going to Architecture school.

Met more people at Din Nye Ven for more beer. Thomas didn't enjoy the flash.

I've only known these girls for about 18 years, y'know.

Sunday:
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart @ Lille Vega.

Northern Portrait did the warm-up. (As did another band that I missed)

He really liked his tambourine. They apparantly also used up all the decent lighting before The Pains of Being Pure at Heart went on.

He likes Mew and Oh No Ono. Wtf?

Cutenessss.

Belle and Sebastian!

They were good, cute, but somehow not as great as they were at Roskilde. Probably the crowd.

I've got delayed weekend the next two days, since I've been working all weekend.
