I've been extremely productive this morning. I sleep like hell at the moment but actually managed to get 5 hours of blissful rest last night. Woke up at around 8AM and stared at the sun rising from below the rooftops (sometimes living on the 4th floor with windows facing east is quite the treat). Then decided to actually do something with my day, contrasting to yesterday's skipping class and doing jack shit.

So before noon I've done all the dishes I could find, my flatmates' included. I've done laundry enough to last me a week, cleaned out my cabinet in the kitchen, and thrown out nasty old milk from the fridge. All that crap you usually avoid. Now all I need is to fold up all the clean clothes currently occupying my chair. Which, no shit, is something I actually enjoy doing.

Otherwise... It's only Tuesday and I'm already longing for the weekend.

Last night was a blast. Saw people I haven't seen in ages and spoke with a LOT of strangers. I love talking to strangers. They have no idea who you are, and you'll never see them again. You can be whoever you want to be.

The first snow came yesterday. I have no idea why but it made me all happy and excited for winter. With the fresh air and bitter cold. The city is beautiful. Copenhagen, je t'aime!

Tonight I'm going here with an old friend whom I haven't seen in months. I'm excited.

What's My Age Again?

This is amazing.

Apparently the plane crash Travis Barker was involved in back in mid-September was good for something. Apparantly it's brought Travis and Mark Hoppus back to talking to Tom Delonge. Apparantly, they've made up.

I don't have the words to explain what blink-182 meant to me when I was younger. I hardly ever listen to it anymore but I can't deny the influence it had on me. I can't explain it either, but you know. I really didn't listen to that much else for years. It's sounds so fucking corny but it brought me through some tough times. It reminds me of the first few times drunk at 13. Of jumping around like maniacs with friends. Of my first boyfriend and the first break-up. It's like the soundtrack to my early teen years.

And this sort of gives (minuscule) hope of a reunion tour. And that would be fucking badass. I don't even know how I'd react. Probably quite teenish. And fangirlish. But, hey. It's allowed.

M+M's.

Lenghty post about Day & Age will be up soon.

Leak of the Day.

It's here. The Killers' new album, Day & Age, was released in iTunes/Japan for download and was quickly all over the Internet.

I've had a pretty fucked up day so I didn't do my daily google routine (I've been doing the "the killers"+day+age+leak search at least a few times a day for the last week) but my friend passed me a link. After much cursing at my unbelievably slow internet connection, it was there. I might've "woo'ed" (ref. the latest How I Met Your Mother episode - seriously, how great was that??)

I'm presently about 2/3 through my first listen. I've immediately taken a liking to This Is Your Life and the just-now-finished Neon Tiger. I went "WTF" at Joy Ride, but I think that's gonna be one of the great ones as well.

I'm so excited! It's showing so much potential. I already like it better than Sam's Town (though that isn't hard to accomplish.)

Anywho. I'm still spooked about Blogger removing posts, so no MP3s. Go here or here, or whereever, though. Get the album. And then just buy the damn thing in just a few days, mkay?

Btw, see the feathered coat again? Apparently it's made by "a woman who goes by Mrs. Jones" (link to interview) who's also made clothes for Kylie Minouge and Scissor Sisters. Which explains a lot, if you ask me.

Also. Lookie here and here. I have no further comment.

Today in bullets:
  • Studying all night = 4 hours of sleep.
  • Midterm!!! in American History. Did alright. Definitely passed.
  • Walked most of the way home because my bike had a flat tyre. Again.
  • Powernap to crappy shows like 7th Heaven. Which, incidentally, I secretly love.
  • Coffee, coffee, coffee!!
Tonight!
  • Factory45 at Studenterhuset, Cph.
  • In the words of Lykke Li: DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!

From 25.09.2008 @ Stengade30.

It's actually exactly what I'm in the mood for right now. Just letting go for a little while. And taking pictures.

Plus, Ida and Mira'll be there. Hells yeah.

Anywho. I'm weirdly excited. You know, 'weirdly' because I've seen them like 4 or 5 times, the latest being less than a month ago. But, well. They're fun live.

Tag.

Melissa over at Jam-bo-ree tagged me.
"You have to mention the person who nominated you, and then tag 5 more blogs, and notify them. List 6 unimportant things that make you happy and at last state the rules"

1. Long walks in Copenhagen with only my iPod and camera as company.
2. Concerts that make you lose yourself.
3. Organizing my books and CDs. I redo them about once a month. Alphabetically, by genre, or by fav
orite.
4. Learning. The wonder of AHA-moments.
5. Capturing the perfect moment in a photograph.
6. Creating t
hemed playlists in iTunes.

I kept wanting to add something with friends but I think that falls into the "very important" category.

Bestseller.

Yeah right.

Found in the bookstore at uni.
(horrible cell-phone quality pic, sorry)

Possibly The Greatest Thing Ever.

Now. Brandon, Ronnie, Dave, and Mark? JUST COME BACK TO DENMARK!

(MP3 here, because I'm already in love with this)

B&W

Last night I went for a walk. I live right across the road from Fælledparken, a large park in the middle of Copenhagen. I love it the most at night.

I've grown quite fond of high contrast black and white photographs these days.

It's 1:30AM and my window is open, which means I can smell the bakery 4 floors below me. It's torture!

Spaceman.

It's been 3 days since the second song from the upcoming The Killers album, Day & Age, became available for download, and, well. Just... OMG.

I love it. I really, really love it. This was the feeling I expected from Human but alas, did not get right away. I do love Human, but it was definitely more of a grower. This one is instant love.

TWO WEEKS until the record is released in Australia (+2 days in UK and +3 days in the US - what's up with that), AND I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I won't be able to wait for the release here in Denmark, which I'm guessing is the same as the UK releasedate(?), so thank God it's out earlier Down Under as that means earlier leakage. Though I really can't wait to get the album in my hands. I have a thing for album booklets and their artwork.

I'd post a link/MP3 but Blogger is being a bi*ch these days, removing posts left and right. Go here instead.

SO EXCITED!

Brand New Start.

I've mentioned Little Joy before - the new project of Strokes' Fabrizio Moretti, Binki Shapiro, and Rodrigo Amarante of Los Hermanos. It's been 4 days since the selftitled record officially dropped, and about 12 days since (at least since I found out) it leaked. And I'm hooked.

I love the simplicity. I love the way it reminds me of chilling on a beach with friends in the summer. When I was a bit sick last week, this album basically saved me. I kept listening to it on repeat because it took me away from the cold, wet autumn in Denmark and took me to a warm, Californian beach in the afternoon instead.

Mr. President.

I have a renewed faith in the American people.

It is getting more and more certain that I will live in the States again, someday.
